El Pregonero de Deseret issue 4 is out!

Issue 4 of the Spanish-language Mormon literature newsletter El Pregonero de Deseret is out. This issue is particularly significant because it brings to a close the first year of this quarterly publication. At 19 pages, this is the longest of all four issues published during year one.

In terms of content, readers can look forward to:

  • Three poems. First, “Lamento por Zarahemla (ubi sunt),” a 2012 poem by Mario R. Montani. Then “El perro guardián,” a 1937 poem by Gaspar Cárdenas, and finally “Mañana es Navidad,” a 1974 poem by Olivia Rojas O.
  • An article introducing the LDS Writers’ Association of Perú, created a few months ago by Luis Zegarra.
  • A review of San Rafael, a novel by Elisabet Zapiæn, a young Mexican author.
  • An author spotlight which focuses on yours truly.
  • A short story titled “Nadie tiene mayor amor que este” by Honduran author Bayardo de Campoluna. This short story won a national literary contest in the author’s native country in 2012. This marks the first time a short story is included in El Pregonero de Deseret.
  • A comics page out of the February 1937 issue of El Atalaya de México, the official publication of the Mexican Mission and one of several precursors to the Spanish-language Liahona.

So make sure to check it out!
