Passing of the guard

.

With the weirdness of this year’s nonconference, we focused more on the awards and not so much on the other traditional business of the AML.

Because of this, we never had a formal posting here on the site regarding leadership. The primary news is that James Goldberg has replaced Eric W. Jepson as president. This means Jepson moves into his new role of past-president, replacing Sheldon Lawrence. In order to take over the role of president, Goldberg has left the post of vice-president open (are you delighted by our sensible and simple system of succession?) and this is The Big Issue left unfinished by our abbreviated conference activities: we currently have no vice-president in place to become president two years from now.

Although only board members may officially nominate people for vice-president (or treasurer—also open—who must, for legal reasons, at present, live in Utah), if you have suggestions, please leave a comment here or make your suggestion to an officer or member of the board. We will compile suggestions and vote this fall. (All nominees must be willing to be nominees.)

As an additional note, we have made board membership a three-year position, with board members having the option to re-up at the end of their term.
