Often, in the course of our busy and hectic lives, we find ourselves caught up in the drama and stress of day to day life. We worry and wonder what life is really all about. We doubt if our efforts are truly making a difference, and long for a simpler and more peaceful existence. We feel rushed and pushed to do what is expected of us, rather than what we would like to do. We seldom make time for the really important aspects of life that would bring us peace and calm amidst the storms of modern living.

By picking up this beautiful new volume by President Henry B. Eyring, you can easily turn snippets of time into moments of reflection and inspiration.

“On The Path Home” is a refreshing quote book that beautifully marries President Eyring’s gentle words of counsel with stunning photographs. The wisdom in this small book will bring us a bit of encouragement and moments of inspiration. These are not trite or well worn phrases or quotes, but heartfelt and short passages of only one or two lines each that will uplift and encourage us.

Some of my favorite quotes are the following:

“When you choose to either make or keep a covenant with God, you choose whether you will leave an inheritance of hope to those who might follow your example.”

“The Holy Ghost is sent to you and to those you care for. You will be strengthened and yet inspired to know the limits and extent of your ability to serve. The Spirit will comfort you when you may wonder, “Did I do enough?”

“The Lord’s great mentors have shown me that spiritual staying power comes from working past the point where others would have taken a rest.”

“The Savior not only feels grief, but also feels your personal grief that only you feel. And, he knows you perfectly.”

“He knows your heart. So he can know which of the many things you can do that will be best for you, as you invite the Holy Ghost to comfort and bless you.:

“What we want with all our hearts will determine in large degree whether we can claim our right to the companionship of the Holy Ghost, without which there can be no spiritual nourishing.”

“After all we can do in faith, the Lord will justify our hopes for greater blessings for our families than we an imagine. He wants the best for us, as His children.”

“Our desire to serve others is magnified by our GRATITUDE for what the Savior has done for us.”

“We need strength beyond ourselves to keep the commandments in whatever circumstance life brings to us. The combination of trials and their duration are as varied as are the children of our Heavenly Father. No two are alike.”
But what is being tested is the same, at all times in our lives and for every person: WILL WE DO WHATSOEVER

“THE LORD OUR GOD WILL COMMAND US?”

This moderately priced and compact book-measuring just 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches is small enough to easily tuck into a purse, backpack or briefcase. Those features, along with the thought-provoking text and beautiful and meaningful photographs, make this an excellent choice for gift-giving and our own home libraries.

The short messages of wisdom would give even those not inclined to read a book an opportunity to ponder the truths contained therein, and in so doing, this would start them on their pathway home, that would bring them closer to the Lord with each passing step.
