Life, the Universe, & Everything 31: The Marion K. “Doc” Smith Symposium on Science Fiction and Fantasy, is coming February 14-16 at the Provo Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. YA fantasy author Megan Whalen Turner is the guest of honor; special guests include Tracy & Laura Hickman, Larry Correia, L. E. Modesit Jr., Eric James Stone, David Farland, James A. Owen, and Brad Torgerson. An advance schedule has now been posted! For more information, visit ltue.net.
For those who haven’t previously attended LTUE, this event represents a combination of science fiction convention, academic conference, educator’s conference, writer’s conference, and more: possibly the biggest (and one of the best) single events in the Mormon literary world. At $30 a head until Feb. 10 ($45 at the door — free for students with a valid ID), it’s also a steal.
On a more personal note, my son Nathan is the student chair this year, and my daughter Rowan and I will be coming out to attend — the first time I’ve been able to make it in over 15 years. Which makes it particularly special!
We’d love to see any and all of you there!
