The latest issue of El Pregonero de Desert has hit the figurative stands. You can download it, free of charge (of course), right here.
This issue includes the following:
- An editorial piece that discusses how LDS authors in Spanish have lacked proper outlets in the last few decades for their Mormon-themed work.
- An author spotlight of Máximo Corte. This was an Argentine poet who published LDS poetry for nearly a decade, until his untimely death in 1950.
- Four poems by Corte, all of them published originally in the Argentine mission’s Mensajero Desert. One of these poems is a version of 1 Nephi 1.
- A short story by Cristalina Roca, out of her collection Dinero. This is a short, science fiction piece aimed at young readers.
- Several literary announcements, including the finalists for the Around the World in Mormon Lit contest, three books for children by Gabriel González Núñez, and a self-published book by Sergio Nieto.
- In addition, this issue includes a brand-new section that offers guidance for budding writers. The first installment in this series is penned by Mario Montani, and it stressed the need to revise one’s own writing.
So, if you read Spanish and any of this seems interesting, make sure to check it out.
