@DavidJohnButler’s win for Speculative is the third time an AML Novel Award winning book has also won a Whitney award. The others were Coke Newell’s On the Road to Heaven in 2007, and @AngelaHallstrom’s Bound on Earth in 2008. (AML Young Adult and Middle Grade Award winning novels have won Whitney Awards several times in the past.)
With three Whitney Awards tonight, Jennifer Nielsen now has 8 total, moving her into second on the all-time list. Both of her two novels were also finalists for AML Awards this year.
