As is customary every three months or so, I am happy to announce that a new issue of El Pregonero de Deseret has been published. For those of you keeping track, this is issue 2.3, or its 7th issue.
Readers will find this time around that the newsletter has a different, younger, more dynamic look. This new feel is the work of Indira Deviagge, a graphic designer out of Bahía Blanca, Argentina, who has taken on the task of laying out the Pregonero. The gorgeous art cover was specially created for this issue by Deviagge.
In terms of content, the new issue includes the following, among other things:
- An author spotlight of Consuelo Gómez. She was a Mexican educator and poet who published poetry in Church magazines from the 1930s to the 1960s.
- Four poems by Gómez, each from a different decade.
- News regarding the winners of the Around the World in Mormon Lit contest. This includes the reprinting the piece that won the Judge’s Award, “TIEMPO una partícula” by Mexican poet Citlalli H. Xochitiotzin.
- An illustrator spotlight on Indira Deviagge, who is now adding her talents to the Cofradía de Letras Mormonas.
The Pregonero keeps pushing along, so if you read Spanish, I hope you’ll check it out here.
